Cookie Policy
Version v1.0 · Published July 16, 2026 · Effective July 16, 2026
The Service operator ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on 'LoudClip' (the "Service") to provide, protect, and improve our SaaS platform. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files downloaded to your browser when you visit a website. They allow the server to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and secure your browsing experience.
2. How LoudClip Uses Cookies
LoudClip does not collect your video files on our servers. We use cookies exclusively for the following purposes:
- Authentication & Session (Strictly Necessary): Verifying your account session so you remain logged in across pages.
- Legal basis: contract performance — no consent required.
- Language Preference (Functional): Remembering your selected language between visits.
- Legal basis: providing a service feature you directly selected — no consent required.
- UI Preferences (Functional): Storing screen settings such as the sidebar open/closed state.
- Legal basis: providing a service feature you directly selected — no consent required.
- Fraud Prevention (Strictly Necessary): Protecting account integrity and payment security via session verification.
- Legal basis: legitimate interests.
LoudClip does not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. All cookies listed above either remember screen/language settings you chose yourself or support core service operation, so none require separate consent under applicable law. For transparency, we still notify you of their use via the banner described below.
3. Cookie Inventory (First-Party)
The following table lists all cookies set directly by LoudClip.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
better-auth.session_token | User authentication session | Persistent | 30 days | Strictly Necessary |
better-auth.session_data | Session cache (faster responses) | Persistent | 5 minutes | Strictly Necessary |
i18next | Language preference | Persistent | 30 days | Functional |
sidebar_state | Sidebar open/close state | Persistent | 7 days | Functional |
guest_learning_language | Learning language preference for signed-out visitors | Persistent | 1 year | Functional |
guest_audience_language | Native language preference for signed-out visitors | Persistent | 1 year | Functional |
4. Use of Local Storage (Not a Cookie)
Some preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage rather than as a cookie.
| Key | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent_v1.0 | Acknowledgment history for this Policy version (determines whether the banner reappears) | Until you clear your browser data |
Records for signed-in members: When you click "Got it" while signed in, we also record the policy version, timestamp, IP address, and browser information on our servers. This is not a legal requirement, but we keep it conservatively so we have a transparent record if our cookie use changes in the future. The retention period for this record is set out in Section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
Visitors who are not signed in: As there is no account to record against, this is stored only in the localStorage key above.
5. Third-Party Cookies
The following third parties may set cookies when you use related features:
- Google (OAuth social login): Google sets authentication cookies on its own domain when you sign in with Google. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Creem (payment checkout): Creem may set session and fraud-prevention cookies during the Lite Plan and Standard Plan checkout flow. These are governed by Creem's own cookie and privacy policies.
6. Managing Cookies
Every cookie covered by this Policy is either necessary for the Service to operate or supports a setting you chose yourself, and none require separate consent. You may still delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings.
You can manage cookies via your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
- Samsung Internet: Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data > Cookies and site data
Please note: Blocking cookies directly through your browser settings will prevent login and other core features from functioning correctly.
7. Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable regulations. We will announce any changes at least 7 days before they take effect (at least 30 days for material changes). When the Policy is revised, the version changes and the notice banner reappears on your next visit. In the event of any conflict between the Korean and English versions, the Korean version shall prevail. However, this does not deprive consumers of the protections afforded to them by mandatory law.
Previous versions of this Policy remain available via their version-specific permanent links.
